We Love to Provide

Tailored Education for Your Unit

The Nurses Miller has created a variety of educational offerings that are built with one goal in mind: learners leave feeling confident in their skills. We can work together to tailor our scope of work to meet the unique needs of your site, including training, consultation, practice updates, and ongoing support.

Competency-Based Advanced Resuscitation Education and Simulation (CARES)
Competencies and simulation for new and experienced neonatal resuscitation team members

During this neonatal resuscitation skills training, students will come away with documented competencies to place laryngeal masks (a.k.a., LMAs) and emergency umbilical vein catheters. Through engaging hands-on simulation, students will practice the art of neonatal resuscitation, including advanced procedures such as blood administration and pneumothorax needle aspiration support. This class can be completed in a minimum of 4 hours.

Additions are recommended and can extend the duration of the class, including care of the small baby (< 30 week gestation), cord gas interpretation, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, safe transfer in the warmer, and more.

Obstetric and Neonatal Skills Training For Emergency Departments (ONED)
Education and simulation for teams in the EDs with and without labor unit

During our 8-hour ONED course on emergency department obstetric and neonatal emergency skills training, students can come away with knowledge covered by the Competency-Based Advanced Resuscitation Education and Simulation (CARES) course described above. Emergency obstetric content tailored for emergency department staff includes the physiologic changes in pregnancy, obstetric hemorrhage, emergencies from hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, cardiac arrest during pregnancy, and precipitous delivery.

The Art and Science of Labor Support
For new and experienced labor nurses.
Two experts bring learners back to the bedside, applying physical & mental aspects of physiologic birth and labor support to hands-on practice.
