OPS OB: Emergencies Workshop (Jan. 2026)
As part of its effort to reduce the rising trend of maternal mortality in the United States, AWHONN developed the Obstetric Patient Safety (OPS): OB Emergencies Workshop, now in its 4th Edition. The curriculum for this program is guided by the leading causes of maternal morbidity and mortality. The focus of the workshop is on various obstetric emergencies that may occur at any point during pregnancy or in the postpartum period.
This OPS workshop is designed to help clinicians work together as a team using effective communication to identify, assess, and manage the care for patients with an obstetric emergency through simulation and debriefing. Clinicians working in the following departments: perinatal, emergency, medical-surgical, ICU, and critical access will find this course essential to caring for patients experiencing an obstetric emergency.
S.T.A.B.L.E., 7th Edition (Dec. 2025)
Instructed by Deidre Miller & Lori Falk. S.T.A.B.L.E. is the most widely distributed and implemented education program to focus exclusively on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants. Based on a mnemonic to optimize learning, retention, and recall of information, S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support.
